RESTORE FUNCTION TO MUSCLES & JOINTS

What is Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique used in remedial massage to treat muscular pain and movement restrictions. It involves inserting very fine, sterile, single-use needles into tight or sensitive muscle bands (commonly known as trigger points).

The goal is to reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, relieve pain, and restore normal movement.

How Does it Work?

When a needle is inserted into a tight muscle, it may create a small twitch response. This helps:

  • Release muscle tightness

  • Reduce pain and sensitivity

  • Improve joint mobility

  • Promote faster recovery

Dry needling works directly on muscular trigger points and is based on modern anatomical and neuromuscular principles.

What conditions can it help with?

 Dry needling may assist with:

  • Neck and shoulder tension

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Lower back pain

  • Sciatica

  • Tennis or golfer’s elbow

  • Hip and glute pain

  • Sports injuries

  • Chronic muscle tightness

What does it feel like?

Most people feel:

  • A brief mild discomfort on insertion

  • A twitch or cramping sensation

  • A dull ache that fades quickly

After treatment, you may experience mild muscle soreness for 24–48 hours, similar to post-exercise soreness.

Is it safe?

Dry needling is performed using sterile, single-use needles and follows strict hygiene protocols. It is generally very safe when performed by a trained and qualified practitioner.

It may not be suitable for people who:

  • Are pregnant (certain areas)

  • Have needle phobia

  • Have certain medical conditions

  • Are on blood thinning medication

We will always discuss your health history before treatment.

Is Dry Needling right for you?

Dry Needling is an add-on option available with your Remedial Massage or MyoFascial Stretch Treatments and can be included as part of your personalised treatment plan where appropriate.

It is optional and will only be used with your informed consent. If you're unsure, we can discuss whether it suits your condition and comfort level.
